Daffodils at the lake

We arrived this afternoon just in time for the rain, but it's still nice to see the daffodils.  Instead of grilling, we are going to eat at Zambistro's, Medina's gourmet restaurant, believe it or not.
Janice is doing well and taking only ordinary pain killers now instead of the strong stuff.  She was out supervising a cleanup on the canal when I called.

Janice had shoulder surgery today

Janice had a muscle reattached to the shoulder this morning.  The doctor was not sure beforehand whether it would work because the injury occurred last November and the muscle had shortened a lot.  But the good news is, he thought it went well.  I just talked to Janice and her arm is still numb but should wear off overnight. She is in good spirits except for finding out that she will not legally be able to drive for 2 months.  You may find more on their blog but it's not there yet. http://www.ourblog-mccc.blogspot.com/

Ison-Smith family quilt is DONE!

Here is Bob trying out the family quilt (boy does he look happy!) I tried to show a sampling of the squares for those of you who won't make it to New York this year. Thanks for contributing. It's all ready for Mom and Dad's visit in 2 weeks.

Mom, Ben would like me to ask you to bring him some bills/coins from Spain when you come.

Fun in Barcelona

It was a great trip.  We visited most of the famous skateboarding sites as well as museums and Gaudi creations.  A highlight was an afternoon in Vila-Robau where we strolled around the village or relaxed on the patio appreciating the view while Nathan and Isaak and another friend skated in a neighboring village.

Skateboards ready.
