Last night we went with Jim and Martha Mitchell to her cousin's new restaurant in Albion, Crooked Door;

My steak was excellent and Jim's pot roast was tasty. The decor also shows good taste. It's next to the canal on the east side of Albion but the canal was not very visible because the parking lot is on the canal side of the building. Perhaps it was piles of snow blocking the view. Looks like we now have 2 options for a good dinner while at the lake - Crooked Door or Zambistro.

White Knuckle Driving in LA
We made it. We're about 10 miles from the border in San Diego, and have driven virtually the whole of our country's beautiful and ever changing coast. The driving has been generally easy; and for much of the trip in Oregon and Northern California we shared the road with just a few other cars. Ahhh, but then we hit the LA freeways. Oh My God! It's terrifying. Anything less than 70, and you become a menace to the road. Cars weave around the freeway going 80-85 MPH. Crazy! I wonder what the per capita car accident rate is in Southern CA. Anyways, we are here at Chris's with our bodies intact. Bob arrives today, and then it's off to Mexico tomorrow.

3-week checkup
We had an outing to the doctor today, babies are doing great. Sydney is now 6 lbs and Cameron is 7 lbs. Doctor said Melissa can let them sleep until they wake up themselves at night. Too bad this picture doesn't show how cute they looked in clothes. Usually they wear diapers and blankets, very convenient.

More twins pics
Sydney and Cameron are incredibly easy babies. They just eat, look around for a bit, and go back to sleep with only an occasional complaint.

Grandma Ison's Ashes
We found a very nice spot on the Thames in Rainham (town where Jim and Elizabeth were born) to leave the ashes. There is a very nice 1 1/2 mile walk from the town center to the river that crosses the Rainham marshes - lots of ducks and a big birding area. We left the ashes on the edge of the river to be taken away at high tide. It was near an area where some barges have been deposited to commerate their use in creating an artificial harbor in Normandy on D-day.

Leaving London Today
Had a great week in London with Elizabeth and having Chris here for a day and a half was an especially nice coincidence. We'll be lucky to make it all the way home today given the weather forecast. Will post other pictures from home-can't get them into the computer here. Chris took this one on his phone and sent it to us.
