New home away from home.

Happy Dogs on the way to the lake.

Liam, Kirsten and I surveyed part of Shadow Lake yesterday. We are volunteers in the invasive weed watcher program for King County. Last Saturday Bob, Liam, and I attended our training session, and got our clipboard and sampling rake. Shadow Lake is quite healthy, although this is a photo of primarily fragrant water lily, an invasive.

Our arrival at night with the Tinier House.

Kirsten and Liam working hard yesterday to resituate.

Final resting ground. The shutters all hinge up or out, but since we were only there for a day yesterday, I didn't take the screws out. I need some sort of locking security on them. I also need to finish supports for the deck and awning. (Always something to keep me from swinging in a hammock.)

Two great days with UK relatives

Friday, Judy and Derek took us to the Black Country Museum, a Victorian era village that has been reassembled and is at the site of an old mine with miles of tunnels accessed by canal boat.  Afterward we had a very hearty dinner at a Carvery. We all had a very good time.

Derek is missing because he is taking the picture.

Yesterday, Richard and Julie and Jamie, Ben, Adam, and Jack took us to dinner at one of the oldest pubs in the UK.  The food and the company were excellent.  Also visited the St Albans Cathedral and the Roman Museum and then went to their house.  We all had fun and Ben especially enjoyed the backyard play.

Finally! Tiny House is at Shadow Lake

What a stressful event! Ranking right up there with childbirth, and my first week at Harborview. First the tires were flat. We solved that by pumping them up with a bicycle tire. Then, the wheels scraped the trailer floor, Alex cut the holes bigger after I tore my wheel well covers apart.

The house listed slightly to the starboard side the whole way. Anyways, it is done. And now parked, cattywompous at Shadow Lake. I will have to fine tune next time I'm out there. By the time we even got to the lake it was already dark, and we didn't get home until midnight. Here are a couple of photos.
I put shutters on for security at the lake.

The metal is an awning shutter over the door. It hinges up.
 Thank you Alex!!!!

More from the UK

We're having a great time - enjoying the sights and eating well. Had an excellent dinner last night at our Wales hotel.  Ben had roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, preceded by shrimp and followed by chocolate torte.   Finally, we were able to sleep this morning until everyone woke up by themselves before 7:30 am.

The Desert Tortoise and the Rattlesnake

Liam and I played at his piano recital on Friday. It went quite well. I composed the clarinet accompaniment to go along with his "Dig Those Turtles." Liam explains the story line to the audience at the beginning of the video. It comes something like this:  the desert tortoise digs a hole to escape the hot sun of the desert, and many creatures come to share his burrow and escape the cold of night, and heat of day. In this piece Liam is the tortoise, and the clarinet is the rattlesnake.
