Lake near the end of Winter
We played bridge with Martha and Jim today for the first time since November. Great to see them, and the beautiful ice-rimmed lake, so calm and full of birds, was a bonus.

Tubing in Texas
On our way back from San Antonio last month we stopped by the Comal River. This is the shortest river in the world (so the locals say) and is fed by spring water. It is very clear. They have set it up for tubing with runs that take from 1 to 4 hours depending on where you get in or out. While there, a convoy went by with a beer keg in the center. Also several snorkelers and scuba divers. The water stays near 72 degrees year round.

Lots of Rain This Year
The dock became marooned on top of its 4x4 channel markers this winter. Bob, I and Alice the gardener, spent a Saturday in water up to our knees resettling it.

Palenque
We need to go again to see all we missed. The ruins cover a huge area in the jungle with steep steps to negotiate. Saw several waterfalls on site but didn't get to the ones with swimming.
