Grandpa Ison was Jim's dad - Jim is "Grandpa Jim" (or "Dad"). These are pics of Jim's father and siblings ( think) and Jim's grandmother (father's mother). The cousin who sent them did not say who was in the group photo.
Goodness, I can totally see the Ison in the picture of Grandma Ison. Does Dad know anything about her life? Was she Canadien, or English?
The third shot of Grandpa Ison with siblings is odd because I met Uncle Frank, Grandpa's brother, and he looked like a taller version of Grandpa. I can't see the resemblance in the bottom photo.
I may have gotten the sibling association wrong. The picture was labelled "In America" so it may have been other friends or relatives. Grandpa Ison's parents lived in England. One of them (I think his mother) was decended from the Irish harbormaster of Cork.
Is Grandpa Ison Jim Ison? Well, the Grandpa Ison does not look like Jim. Hmmm. Is grandma Ison Sherrill, or Jim's Grandma?
