Warm weekend

This is the 4th beautiful fall weekend in a row.  We spent Saturday at the lake playing bridge with Martha and Jim Mitchell and then we were joined by Janice and Madhu for dinner at the Crooked Door in Albion.  It was nearly sixty this morning (Sunday), perfect for an outdoor picnic breakfast at the Madhu's lake house.  Unfortunately, none of us had a camera.  We'll see many of you very soon in Santa Monica, where it looks like it may be swimming weather.

  1. We went cross country skiing today! Lots of snow this year in the mountains. The ski slopes are already open for business. Of course here in Seattle we see rain, not snow.

  2. They did very well cross country skiing. Although, Ben did quite a bit of swearing (!) at the beginning when he kept falling, and Liam got too tired, and after 2 hours had a fit and took his skiis off and walked the last 100 yards or so to the car. It is very hard work. Bob and I were on snow shoes as we anticipated having to pick them up again ang again, but they did very well, and were ahead of us most of the time.

I asked them today if they had a good time skiing, and both of them said "yes."
