Nathan and I went fishing last week on a 1.5 day trip and did very well catching 5 Bluefin Tuna, 2 Dorado, and 2 Yellow Tail. Last night we did a great barbecue cooking the fish belly and heads and searing the tuna fillets.
Very Cool. Were the other people on board interesting? Was there a guide to help you fish? Or did you do most of the rigging, etc. yourselves?
I just got back from buying a couple of higher grade fishing poles. We're staying at a house on a lake this next week-end with some friends, and will try again to catch some fish. Haven't had much luck yet, but I'm ever hopeful.
I think it's funny that your fishing trips generally are photos of fish made into food, rather than action shots of you catching the fish.
There are a few helpers that can help you tie knots and help when everyone gets tangled up. A large part of the day is a boat ride looking for the fish. When you find them you need to get your bait in the water so there us not a chance to get action shots.
Looks delicious. Hope you are saving some in the freezer for fall. Happy eating.
ReplyDeleteDid you sleep on board out at sea?
ReplyDeleteYea the boat was around 55 feet long and had 16 beds.
