Wow. Was there a big wind after all the rain? Or is the ground just so wet things are toppling over? It doesn't look as if that willow had a very big root ball.
Lucky you guys got rid of most of the poplars close to the cottage.
Quite a few people out here had trees toppled. There were high winds on top of lots of rain making the water table very high. The hole left by the Madhu's willow is full of water almost up to ground level. Carol Kellog had one pine tree topple, pulling out of the ground and 2 others snapped off. Galens arrived last weekend from Florida to find a tree had fallen on their house.
