Happy New Year

Is everybody home from Mexico? Please post photos!!!

We had a really great time in Connecticut. We met some of Bob's family in Rhode Island, and spent an afternoon skating at an outdoor rink, and then got stuck in a blizzard coming home. Very exciting for the boys. We were caravaning with 2 cars, and Bob and Uncle Steve had to push our car up Snake Hill, and then turn around and approach Grandma Jan's from another direction. The blizzard left about 1 foot of snow at Jan's, and Steve taught us all how to make snow caves. It really worked! We mounded and packed the snow up into  large piles, waited 2 hours for it to settle, and then dug out a cavern inside. Photos to follow. Neither Bob or I took a camera, so we're waiting for Uncle Steve to e-mail us some choice shots.

We also took a really great walk in the woods behind Jan's and explored some old dumping grounds full of really old cars, wooden spoked wheels, and lots of other stuff. Norwich was established by europeans in the 1600s, and prior to that had large populations of Indians. We went to an absolutely fantastic Indian museum, established on casino gambling profits which amounted to billions in the last decade.

Please post with stories of Mexico.

  1. We just got home from Mexico. It was great fun as usual. The snorkeling was good, very large numbers of fish, but I missed the eagle ray and another ray that Missy and Jeff saw. Our favorite place for chicken mole has changed hands and doesn't have it any more but the windy place is still there and Abundio was very glad to see us. Chris, Nathan, Missy, and Jeff went fishing and came back with a big catch which was cooked for us at the windy place - it was delicious. The first night we were in the house, our computer and camera were stolen from the living room so we do not have any pictures until Tui or Jeff or Ron send some. Actually,
Tui did send some of the twins who had a great time in the pool and the sand and in the ocean, once they got used to it. I changed my google password and can't remember it so I can't post until I unpack and find the paper I wrote it on.

  2. How did the robber get in? Did you leave the front door open when at the pool?
